The National Courier Association (NCA) is relaunching itself as the UK’s fifth emergency service. Founded 20 years ago, the NCA is a nationwide network of over 80 independent ‘same day’ courier companies, ensuring that collections from any major town across the UK can be made within 45 minutes. Local NCA member, PanEx is playing a key role in ensuring that businesses fully understand the benefits of using an NCA courier company and has helped to develop the NCA’s new Code of Practice.

According to Simon John, managing director of PanEx, ‘Few industries are able to react so quickly and provide a nationwide service of this level. Between us, the members of the National Courier Association operate a fleet of 2,500 ‘same day’ couriers which means we can provide customers with an unparalled nationwide courier service. Yet many local businesses are not aware of our national reach, assuming that as local independent businesses, we have limited resources outside our geographical area’.

‘In fact, NCA members - who are all externally checked and verified by experts - offer the high quality of service expected from a local supplier but on a national level. We have built a trusted network through 20 years of intertrading.

And to mark our 20th Anniversary, I have been involved in developing a new Code of Practice, ensuring that we continue to have high standards to work to’.

‘Our Code of Practice has been developed to provide customers with high service levels, emphasising our efficiency, reliability and focus on security. PanEx is delighted to be part of the largest collective ‘same day’ couriers in the UK. I am looking forward to working closely with the NCA to help them raise awareness of the fifth emergency service amongst clients and prospects.’
